I've been learning how to use Photoshop. This took me a while, but I think it was worth the effort. I will post a few more pics of Ian and Luci that I took with their birthday cupcakes at Aunt Katie's and Uncle Wesp's house. (Ian calls Wes "Wesp." I don't know why.) Later.

Fun with my camera!

I got a new camera and have been playing with angles, distances and perspectives. Luckily, Abby is a patient subject. Wes....not so much. I have taken a lot of pictures in the last few days!

Abby and I made it down to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Buchanan. She got to go on a ride on Grandma's chair! Fun Sunday.
Abby was happy to sit with Grandpa for the picture!
Abby loves Mommy! Kisses may be sloppy, but I wouldn't trade them for the world!
Have a great day.

Kate

Hi, everyone. We have had a busy week. I worked a little on Tuesday because of high caseload and low help. The rest of the week seemed to go in the same fashion. It's nice to be busy.... Abby is hitting new milestones. As you know, she is over 17 pounds now. She is also busy learning things. She is learning how to master pulling up on all fours and rocking. She is very close to putting it all together. I'm getting nervous! I'm sure she'll be a docile, sedentary child. She is related to me and Wes! (I'm in so much trouble.) The weekend will go by quickly, but we hope to get the house renovation project finished. I say "we" very loosely. I have to keep Abby happy while Wes balances precariously on a ladder and nails aluminum sheeting to the eaves. I didn't argue the roles! Hope you are having a great day. Love, Kate

New background

Hopefully, this will work out better. Let me know if you still have difficulty reading the text. I didn't realize the background would make such a difference.
Abby is getting big. She had her six month checkup yesterday. She is 17 pounds 13 ounces and 28 inches tall. Hard to believe that she started out so little!
We just babysat for Ian and Luci tonight. They are both getting big and Ian is quite a help in the kitchen. Having a great time, though Wes is pretty sure he is not ready for three kids of our own any time soon!

Well, until I post again, have a good night. God bless America!

6 months and growing

Sorry it has taken so long to blog lately. We have had a hectic and rough 2 weeks. Grandpa Miller passed away at the end of September after an extended illness. It is always a tough phone call to receive, but he was just not doing well. We were up in D-town for the funeral and family stuff. That was an exhausting week. Abby was a trooper. She smiled at everyone, which was good 'cause we were definitely short on smiles!
I also started a new job. I am one of the occupational therapists on staff at Hancock Regional Hospital. It is actually close to my home. New concept. I love it so far. The people are very nice and it is a nice facility.
Abby turned 6 months old yesterday! She is 17 pounds and really long! (I won't know until her next doctor's appointment next month.) She is holding herself up really well and loves to swing.

It was a long week.

It was obviously a long week when I forget to actually write the blog after I title it!
It started out with a Colts loss to Chicago. Sad, yes. But we were stylin' in our jerseys! I am going to show Abby with her cousin Kari. (Abby's the littlest one!)

After that unfortunate game, we got to deal with Abby's first illness and first doctor's appointment while she was sick. Turns out she had gastroenteritis. Not uncommon for her age. She likes to bring everything to her mouth and see what it tastes like. She got to drink some wonderful unflavored Pedialyte. (It's awful, I tasted it to see.) So, that was fun.

BUT, we ended it with a Colts win (and power outage.) Nevertheless, here's a much more victorious pair of Colts fans!

We look forward to seeing everyone as soon as we can.
Love,
Kate and Abby

It's finally Friday!

I have worked my three day workweek and I am beat! Marikay, our wonderful babysitter, needed most of the day off, so Mom Journay was more than happy to come down and watch Abby for us. (I'm pretty sure I didn't need to twist Mom's arm to come down!) Apparently, the child is a Grandma magnet, because MY mom stopped by and stayed for a few hours. Our child was blessed to get to spend some time with both of her grandmas. (Thanks, Grandpas for letting them come up/down.) We are staying around here this weekend, but I am hoping to get some good pictures of Abby. I'll post some of them soon. Love to you all,
Kate
